AMD & Microsoft | “Co-Brand”

2 DAY SHOOT | PRODUCTION ONLY

Agency: BondX

Producer: Buttons Pham

Directors: Morgan & Nick

Editor: Nickolas Grisham

Finishing: Finland Finish

We were glad to be invited back for our fourth shoot with AMD! If you know Nick, you know that the orange world space typical of AMD is one of his favorite places. However, this on-location shoot (many locations, actually) might have been even more fun. This one required six different spots with six different locations: an outdoor campus area, an airport, a university common workspace, a vacation rental home, student apartment, and a cafe - all shot in two days. Day 1 was spent at the Domain in Austin where we could utilize many different areas to create different looks. One of them being an empty rental space that we transformed into an airport waiting area.

We began Day 2 at a cafe in the Domain and then headed to a nearby house for the remainder of the shoot. Company moves were plenty and we were so thankful that the weather was nice. More than nice - it was perfect. Like, as if we called it and asked it to be on its best behavior kind of perfect. We filmed everything on a Sony Venice with our Optimo Prime lenses in 6k so that we were able to edit the footage in all of the different aspect ratios - 16:9, 9:16, 1:1. The inspiration for the edit was the opening credits of Parks and Rec, as you can see with the many different panels featured in each spot. Usually, Nick spends his editing time in Premiere but this entire project was edited completely in After Effects. Wouldn’t you say that makes it more of a motion graphics project? Yes. The answer is yes.
